‘Without Borders’, Partnership between Embratur and TikTok Promises to Bring Brazil’s Attractions to the World

Brazil is being presented to the world directly by those who make tourism happen. This is the focus of the partnership established between Embratur (Brazilian Institute of Tourism) and TikTok. The Brazilian agency and the social platform introduced an initiative aimed at empowering small and medium enterprises, as well as professionals in the tourism sector, through digital workshops.

The president of Embratur, Marcelo Freixo, highlighted the importance of the partnership due to TikTok’s reach, size, and impact on people’s lives. He also emphasized that it represents a great opportunity to give visibility to those who “make tourism happen on the front lines.”

“Tourism in Brazil is made by small and medium entrepreneurs and workers. Therefore, empowering them and giving access to a tool like TikTok, allowing them to showcase their businesses and destinations, is a very important opportunity to help those on the front lines, as well as to show Brazil in its essence. When I think of tourism, I think of the entrepreneur, just as I think of the person who welcomes tourists in a restaurant, hotel, or tour service. These are the people we want to reach,” said the president of Embratur.

According to Silvia Belluzzo, Director of Business Marketing for SMEs at TikTok for Latin America, the focus of the partnership is to help small businesses boost their operations. “TikTok is a discovery platform. And that is powerful for tourism. The community is extremely engaged in discovering new places, creating itineraries, and learning curiosities about the places they want to visit. Especially for SMEs, TikTok is a place to reach new audiences and break out of the bubble, as our platform is not about who you know or follow, but about the themes and content that spark your interest,” she explained.

Webinars

The first webinar is scheduled for April 3. It will present tools and strategies to empower micro and small enterprises (MSEs) in the sector on how to use the platform as a digital marketing and sales tool, expanding their visibility and economic impact.

Among the topics to be covered are: the diverse and engaged audience, accessible advertising tools, creative and informal content, and partnership opportunities with influencers.

In addition, the two companies will provide an e-book with content focused on storytelling creation and the use of the platform for selling products and services.
