Royal Caribbean Unveils the New Icon of the Seas

Royal Caribbean International revealed the first images of the highly anticipated Icon of the Seas, the Icon of Vacations, according to a press release.

Arriving at the end of 2023, ahead of its debut in January 2024, the first ship in the Icon class will be the unprecedented combination in the travel industry of the best of every type of vacation, the company announced.

From beach retreats to resort escapes and theme park adventures, with the Icon, every type of family and adventurer can experience their version of the ultimate family vacation.

“With each new ship, we raise the bar in the travel industry while enhancing what our guests know and love,” said Jason Liberty, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group. “From the moment they step on board, every experience is specifically designed to offer them the best vacations on land or at sea. With the Icon of the Seas, we take this to a new level and create the ultimate family vacation.”

Whether “family vacation” means a getaway with family, a couple, or friends, the Icon’s comprehensive programming features a variety of new and top-tier favorites for everyone. There are adrenaline-pumping thrills, including the largest water park at sea, and unmatched ways to relax with more ocean views and pools – one for each day of the week – than ever before, along with a mix of over 40 new and established dining, bar, nightlife, and cutting-edge entertainment options.

“The Icon of the Seas is the culmination of more than 50 years delivering memorable experiences and our next bold commitment to those who love vacations,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International. “Now more than ever, families and friends are prioritizing experiences where they can connect and enjoy their own adventures. We set out to create vacations that make all of this possible in one place for thrill-seekers, relaxation enthusiasts, and everyone in between, without compromise. It’s this unprecedented combination that makes the Icon the future of family vacations, and that future is here.
