The power of multiplication is a strong ally in generating wealth.
Make the most of reading this article. There are no theories to be understood here. There is only an illustration whose essence, I am sure, will be etched in your mind and will help you change many of your beliefs about money.
Imagine yourself participating in my course Prosperity: abundance within your reach. I take a one-real bill from my wallet and announce:
— I have one real and want to buy something. It can be an object, information, a service, entertainment… What do you have to offer me?
One of the participants offers me a pencil for one real, and I accept to buy it. I keep the pencil, and the participant has the one-real bill. Now, he announces:
— I have one real and want to buy something.
Someone offers to give him a foot massage (reflexology) for three minutes for one real. The participant agrees, and the transaction takes place. The masseur, now with one real in hand, announces:
— I have one real and want to buy something.
A young participant says he has a joke to sell. The masseur likes the idea and gives him the one-real bill. The young man tells the joke, everyone laughs, and he announces:
— I have one real and want to buy something.
Someone stands up and says he recently conducted a film survey and is willing to reveal the names of the three best films of the decade for one real. The young man agrees. Everyone learns the names of the three best films of the decade, and the money, once again, changes hands.
And the film researcher announces:
— I have one real and want to buy something.
This time, I, the facilitator of the course, say that I have the explanation of how this game works and am willing to reveal it for one real. The researcher hands me the one-real bill, and I then explain.
Now, stop imagining and see what happened: at the end of the game, I had the pencil, which I had bought with my one-real bill, and the one-real bill was back in my hands. Several transactions took place: objects changed hands, information was transmitted, services were rendered, things were learned, and there was also fun. But what really happened was the simplest demonstration that can be given that “every penny spent returns to our hands multiplied, whether in money or in another form of reward.”
This is perhaps the easiest way to understand how the Keynesian Multiplier can be applied to our daily lives.
Coincidence or not, the Bible tells that one of the miracles of Jesus Christ was the miracle of multiplication: with five loaves and two fish, he fed more than five thousand people. (Matthew 14:13-21)
