Avenues A World School announces its Campus in São Paulo

A “Avenues: The World School”, which opened its first campus in New York in 2012, as part of a planned global network of multiple early childhood education schools in major cities around the world – all connected by a distinct mission – announced the opening of its campus in São Paulo.

The 300,000 square meter campus (under construction) will open its doors to its first students in August 2018. Avenues has signed a long-term lease agreement with São Carlos, one of the leading investment and real estate management companies in Brazil, to occupy the former SulAmerica building located in the Cidade Jardim neighborhood of São Paulo. As part of an investment of over $50 million from Avenues for the launch of the São Paulo campus, the building will be completely renovated and upgraded to become a world-class facility designed by the award-winning firm Aflalo & Gasperini. At full capacity, the campus will accommodate 2,100 students and 300 leaders, teachers, and staff.

Avenues São Paulo will hold an official launch event on March 16, 2017, which will mark the beginning of the school’s marketing and admissions efforts to enroll students for the 2018 academic year.

Alan Greenberg, the co-founder of Avenues, led the South American initiative and noted that the school has assembled a “world-class” leadership team for Avenues São Paulo. The head of the school will be Hamilton “Ham” Clark, one of the most respected leaders of independent schools in the United States, and head of the Avenues New York school.

In the next two years, the team will spend a good amount of time at Avenues New York to learn, observe, contribute, and prepare for the opening of São Paulo, ensuring that the new campus is aligned with the priorities of the global Avenues school.

Clark noted that the São Paulo campus is just one of several other expansion efforts currently in development for Avenues.

Plans for campuses in China, London, Mexico City, Doha, Dubai, Silicon Valley, Miami, Washington DC, and San Francisco are also being developed.
