American Airlines Named ‘Airline of the Year’

American Airlines announced that Air Transport World, the leading global and commercial airline magazine, has named American Airlines as the “Airline of the Year.”

The editors of ATW selected American from over 10 global competitors in recognition of the achievements driven by its leadership and employees over the past year.

The successful integration of American and US Airways was also the largest and most complex airline merger in history. Throughout the process, the company committed to investing more than $3 billion in new products and services for customers, which include next-generation aircraft; enhanced in-flight connectivity, entertainment, and dining options; updated lounges; and new “city pair” services.

“We couldn’t have achieved this without the hard work of our employees, both in the air and on the ground, and the dedication of our travel partners,” says Alison Taylor, Senior Vice President of Global Sales at American Airlines.
