New York is Azul’s New International Destination

The largest airline in Brazil in terms of the number of cities served and flight departures has announced the launch of daily service between São Paulo – Viracopos and JFK starting June 15. New York will be Azul’s third destination in the United States. Azul already serves Fort Lauderdale and Orlando from São Paulo-Viracopos, Belo Horizonte, and Recife. With this new non-stop service, Azul’s offering to the U.S. will increase to 30 weekly flights. São Paulo-Viracopos, Azul’s main hub in Brazil, will now have 60 non-stop destinations, six of which are international: Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, and JFK in the U.S., Lisbon and Porto in Portugal, and finally, Buenos Aires in Argentina.

“This is another important day for Azul, our crew, and our customers. We already offer the widest network in Brazil with service to over 100 domestic destinations, and now we are adding a very important corporate destination to our portfolio. We couldn’t be more excited about what this new service can mean for our network and how it expands our relevance with our corporate customers,” says John Rodgerson, CEO of Azul. This route will be operated by Azul’s widebody A330 aircraft, featuring our award-winning Azul Business, Azul Economy Extra, and Azul Economy cabins, along with industry-leading customer service. In Azul Business, customers enjoy fully reclining seats with direct aisle access, personalized meal options, and world-class in-flight entertainment. In Economy Extra, customers can enjoy more legroom, which also includes our exclusive SkySofa product, perfect for families. Each seat on our widebody A330 aircraft is equipped with individual touch-screen IFE, as well as universal and USB charging ports. All of this is made possible thanks to our award-winning in-flight customer service crew.

The flight will operate from the international terminal at São Paulo-Viracopos airport and, at JFK, it will operate at JetBlue’s Terminal T5. The flights are timed to offer quick and convenient connections to important destinations such as Boston in the U.S. and Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.
