President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva congratulated the elected president of the United States (USA), Donald Trump, on his victory in the election held this Tuesday (5), where he emerged victorious against Democrat Kamala Harris. In defending respect for the electoral outcome, the Brazilian president wished luck and success to the future ruler of the USA.
“My congratulations to President Donald Trump on his electoral victory and return to the presidency of the United States. Democracy is the voice of the people and it must always be respected. The world needs dialogue and joint work for us to have more peace, development, and prosperity. I wish luck and success to the new government,” said Lula through social media.
Recently, Lula had expressed a preference for candidate Kamala Harris. According to him, a victory for the Democratic candidate would result in the strengthening of democracy.
