The best hotel in the world is located in Brazil. It is the Hotel Colline de France, in Gramado (RS), chosen by travelers from all over the world in the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards 2021. The ranking on the Tripadvisor site is based on ratings that guests give to establishments in categories such as location, cleanliness, service, and value for money. The hotel’s title was earned after receiving a maximum score (5) in 1,565 traveler reviews.
In a style and decor reminiscent of France, the hotel features 34 suites, which boast hand-carved imperial-style furniture. Since 2018, the establishment has been utilizing the credit line from the General Tourism Fund (Fungetur) for improvements in the services offered to guests. During the health crisis, the hotel received R$ 2.7 million for working capital. In total, R$ 6.7 million was invested through the Fund.
“This is an achievement for Brazilian tourism and a recognition that the Ministry of Tourism is on the right track through actions that enable the development of our sector, such as the Fungetur. I am sure that the recovery is closer than we think and that it will be grand,” commented the Minister of Tourism, Gilson Machado Neto.
“Without the support of the Ministry of Tourism, we would not have been able to realize this great and desired dream. The arduous path, from conception to project realization and also during this recovery, was only possible through the assistance of the Ministry of Tourism,” emphasized one of the co-owners, Jonas Tomazi. The hotel also holds the Responsible Tourism Seal, which establishes biosafety protocols against Covid-19.Other Awardees
Brazil was also well represented in other categories of the awards, such as best small hotels: Hotel Vila Kebaya, in IlhaBela (SP) – 5th place – and Vila da Santa Hotel Boutique & Spa, in Armação dos Búzios (RJ) – 13th place.
In the category of best romantic hotels, the Valle D´incanto Midscale Hotel, in Gramado (RS) appears in 20th place. Among the best inns, highlights include Pousada Gaia Viva, in Igaratá (SP) – 5th; Pousada Quarto Crescente, in Trancoso (BA) – 13th; Casa da Ilha do Mel – Pousada de Chamer, in Ilha do Mel (PR) – 20th; and Pousada Recanto do Arraial, in Arraial d´Ajuda (BA) – 22nd.
When it comes to Resorts, the All Inclusive VilaVip Hotel Fazenda, in Serra Negra (SP) secured 10th place. The Anttunina Pousada Spa, in Maragogi (AL), ranks 3rd among new and trendy hotels in the world, while the Serrambi Resort, in Ipojuca (PE) was voted 19th among the top hotels perfect for photos.
