The US government canceled the visas of the wife and 10-year-old daughter of Health Minister Alexandre Padilha (PT). The information was disclosed by Julia Duailibi’s blog on g1, which confirmed that the minister himself was not affected by the measure because he currently has no valid visa.
According to the publication, Padilha’s family was informed on the morning of this Friday (15) through notices sent by the US Consulate-General in São Paulo. The documents indicate that the visas were canceled because, after issuance, “information emerged indicating” that the holders “were no longer eligible” to keep them.
According to the content of the notices, the cancellation prevents entry into the United States. If the person is already in US territory, they may remain until the end of the visa’s validity period, but the document loses effect as soon as they leave the country.
