Brazilian entrepreneurs value the use of social media and data analysis tools the most among 51 countries evaluated by the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) 2024 Research. The survey, released with support from Sebrae, reveals that 89% of respondents in Brazil consider social media essential for businesses and 71% see data analysis as strategic for company growth.
According to the GEM, the leading international research on entrepreneurship, 80% of Early-Stage Entrepreneurs in Brazil plan to expand the use of digital technologies in the next six months. Additionally, 60% express interest in adopting artificial intelligence and 69% intend to invest in cloud computing solutions to strengthen their market strategies.
For Sebrae president Décio Lima, the trend is irreversible: “Innovation, sustainability, and inclusion are concepts with no turning back. We see that when small businesses enter the innovation and digitalization landscape, they expand opportunities, creating more jobs and income.”
Analyses and Results
Décio Lima emphasizes that a business’s survival depends on financial balance and strategic vision. “A business does not survive long-term without financial balance, especially regarding cash flow and short-, medium-, and long-term investments,” he highlights.
In this context, data analysis gains relevance, especially when combined with artificial intelligence. “Digitization, in general, can contribute to better and more efficient control of business information, particularly financial information,” he states.
According to him, financial management benefits directly from data usage. “It is necessary to forecast the required resources and their application. Where to apply them and how they will be distributed over time. Thus, all financial management greatly benefits from data analysis,” he reinforces.
