Brazilian Entrepreneurs Lead in Using Social Media and Data Analysis to Boost Businesses

Brazilian entrepreneurs value the use of social media and data analysis tools the most among 51 countries evaluated by the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) 2024 survey. The study, released with support from Sebrae, reveals that 89% of respondents in Brazil consider social media essential for businesses and 71% view data analysis as strategic for company growth.

According to GEM, the leading international survey on entrepreneurship, 80% of early-stage entrepreneurs in Brazil plan to expand the use of digital technologies in the next six months. Additionally, 60% express interest in adopting artificial intelligence and 69% intend to invest in cloud computing solutions to strengthen their market strategies.

For Sebrae president Décio Lima, the trend is irreversible: “Innovation, sustainability, and inclusion are concepts with no turning back. We perceive that when the small economy enters the innovation and digitalization landscape, it expands opportunities, leading to more jobs and income.”

Analyses and Results

Décio Lima emphasizes that a business’s survival depends on financial balance and strategic vision. “A business cannot survive long-term without financial balance, especially in terms of cash flow and short-, medium-, and long-term investments,” he highlights.

In this context, data analysis gains relevance, especially when combined with artificial intelligence. “Digitalization, in general, can contribute to better and more efficient control of business information, particularly financial information,” he states.

According to him, financial management directly benefits from data usage. “It is necessary to forecast the resources needed and their application. Where to apply them, how they will be distributed over time. Thus, all financial management greatly benefits from data analysis,” he reinforces.
