With ideal winds for practice, Ceará attracts athletes and artists interested in kitesurfing

Ceará is established as one of the most sought-after destinations in the world for kitesurfing, attracting not only professional athletes but also celebrities looking to enjoy the perfect winds of the coastline. This weekend, Preá beach, in particular, was a meeting point for artists in search of leisure and adventure.

Luciano Huck, a TV Globo presenter, was with family and friends on the West coast. Accompanied by his eldest son, Joaquim, he practiced kitesurfing, taking advantage of the wind season in the state. Meanwhile, Angélica, his wife, opted for moments of tranquility, enjoying the natural beauty of the region alongside Grazi Massafera, who is also in Ceará.

The list of celebrities visiting the state doesn’t stop there. Actor Reynaldo Gianecchini shared photos in Jericoacoara, which is just a few kilometers from Preá. In one of the posts, he wrote: “It was everything I needed”.
Sports Events

The constant presence of trade winds along the Ceará coast creates ideal conditions for kitesurfing. This combination attracts both elite athletes and amateurs from various parts of the world, transforming Ceará into a true international sports hub.

One of the events that reinforces this position is the Molokabra, whose 6th edition ended on September 7th. Inspired by the competitions in Hawaii, the event is organized by the Ceará Stand Up Paddle Association (ASUPCE) and includes kitesurfing, kitefoil, wing foil, paddleboard, stand up paddle, SUP foil, surfski, and Hawaiian canoe.

The competition is one of the most prestigious in Brazil, bringing together kitesurfers in a challenging crossing along the Ceará coast. With long-distance races, the championship tests the endurance and skill of the participants, offering an unmissable spectacle for sports enthusiasts.

More than 300 competitors from 16 states, as well as representatives from the Federal District and six countries, participated in the event. Special mention goes to the French delegation, which included over 20 athletes. The competitions took place in the capital of Ceará and at Cumbuco Beach in Caucaia, another globally renowned destination for kitesurfing.
