We are all going… to a place where we will surely meet people who marked our lives.
Today we speak of Clara Angélica, who must be there.
I could define her as a good, poetic, dreamy being full of her unique reasons, who stood by my side for many years at The Brasilians. I don’t think I could date this period that passed so quickly between us.
I entrusted her with the responsibility of the English section of the newspaper.
She knew how to carry out her role with competence, despite all our limitations, with great care and dedication.
No easy task.
I understand.
It was a period of much struggle and learning for all of us.
We argued, we debated, we agreed sometimes with the single purpose of doing the best of ourselves. And we did, like many professionals who passed through there.
Friend of different artists and intellectuals, she always hosted on Saturdays in her Brooklyn apartment in New York the gatherings that marked the Brazilian presence in a whole of many events.
Clara or Clarinha as she was called by her friends, as a good Sagittarius, determined and with Northeastern roots, was a strong woman, mainly concerned with the education of her children Sacha and Vanessa until delivering them ready for life.
Both, today, successful professionals in their careers. (Mission accomplished)
Not forgetting the granddaughters, her most recent and logical passion.
I remember her return to her roots in Aracaju.
She confessed to me with enthusiasm, very characteristic of her, that she was living a period of fullness, of happiness in the encounter of everything she had left there.
Old memories, loves left along the way.
The last time we spoke was at Easter.
She said she was leaving the hospital that week.
Well… as we belong to the world and not the world to us, she leaves along the way her broad smile, the joy of living, some dreams that did not happen, many longings and memories of things that marked us.
Clara, Clarinha, Claridade, there is much light on your path in eternity…
God knows this and agrees with me.
