Blood Orange (Laranja Sanguínea), by Abigail Duclos and produced by Et Alia Theater, dives into a territory where pain and desire meet. After her father’s violent death, Faye — a lost teenager full of questions — feels abandoned by God and her mother. That’s when she encounters a strange creature by the roadside… and decides to follow its “teachings.” Soon, she drags her friend Eden into

a dark religion made of prayers, blood, and forbidden love.
The play reveals grief in its rawest form: ugly, complex, and cutting. And it asks: How can young women survive in a culture that hypersexualizes them and, at the same time, demonizes their desires? What happens when the search for pleasure mixes with pain?
