American Airlines announced that Air Transport World, the leading global magazine for commercial aviation, has named American Airlines as the Airline of the Year 2017.
ATW editors selected American from over 10 global competitors, recognizing the achievements of its leadership and employees over the past year.
The successful integration of American and US Airways was also the largest and most complex airline merger in history. Throughout the process, the company committed to investing more than $3 billion in new products and services for customers, which include next-generation aircraft; enhanced onboard connectivity, entertainment options, and meals; renovated VIP lounges; and new services between city pairs.
