History of HFFNY The Havana Film Festival New York is an internationally recognized film festival that celebrates Latin American cinema. In its 18th anniversary, HFFNY showcases over 40 films from the most exciting cinematic talents from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay, Costa Rica, Venezuela, and the United States.
The HFFNY maintains the reputation for which it is known: enriching and expanding the vision of Latin culture in the United States. The films selected each year reflect strong cultural and social identities rooted in their respective countries.
The festival offers our audience the opportunity to watch award-winning feature films, documentaries, shorts, animations, and classics, as well as new independent films rarely shown in the U.S. The festival takes place from March 30 to April 7, 2017, at various venues in New York City.
