The World’s Largest Cruise Ship Is Almost Ready – The Brasilians

The World’s Largest Cruise Ship Is Almost Ready

The world’s largest cruise ship has completed its construction at a shipyard in Finland and has made its first outing to open waters for sea testing, ahead of its expected delivery in November this year.

Being a new type of cruise ship, there will be all kinds of new features on board, including a water park, new family-dedicated areas, revamped pool decks, and much more.

Although Royal Caribbean has not yet revealed all the information about the ship, we already know that the Icon of the Seas will be over 6% larger than the Wonder of the Seas and can accommodate up to 7,600 passengers. The Icon of the Seas will also be 10 feet longer than the Wonder of the Seas.

When it launches in early 2024, the Icon of the Seas will become the largest cruise ship in the world. If you are thinking about booking the Icon of the Seas, or planning a cruise soon, there are several things you should know about this new ship.

Here’s a look at the most important things we know about the Icon of the Seas.
What is the size of the Icon of the Seas?

The Icon of the Seas is the first ship in the Icon class, which means this cruise ship will have a new design, size, and appearance compared to other ships that came before it.

The Icon of the Seas will carry 7,600 passengers at maximum occupancy (or nearly 10,000 people when considering the crew) when it sets sail for the first time with guests on January 27, 2024.
Where will the Icon of the Seas depart from?

The Icon of the Seas will begin offering cruises from Miami in January 2024.

Miami will be the home port from January 2024 until at least April 2025.

Royal Caribbean has not yet announced plans for where the ship will depart from after April 2025.

When the Icon enters service, it will offer week-long itineraries through the Eastern and Western Caribbean, each visiting Royal Caribbean’s private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay.
