Sales of Brazilian footwear abroad generated $162 million in business for the national footwear sector this year. The deals were closed during 13 international trade initiatives by the federal government, including participation in industry events and trade missions.
According to the Brazilian Agency for Promotion of Exports and Investments (Apex-Brasil), the number of trade partners in the sector jumped from 99 to 160 in the last 18 years. Currently, 250 Brazilian companies account for 80% of all exports.
