The world’s largest economies grouped in the G20 will hold their annual summit of heads of state or government in November next year in Rio de Janeiro, wrote the state’s governor Cláudio Castro on his official Twitter account.
The nation that presides over the G20 also hosts the annual summit meeting. India, as the current holder of the G20 rotating presidency, is scheduled to host the summit of heads of state on September 9 and 10 in its capital, New Delhi. After India, Brazil will take over the rotating presidency on December 1 and will host next year’s summit.
Members
The group consists of Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the European Union.
Governor Castro announced that the 2024 meeting will have the presence of all 20 members of the group, in addition to 10 invited nations. Among the invited nations are Paraguay and Uruguay, both members of Mercosur, along with Brazil and Argentina.
