A Technical Cooperation Agreement signed between the Special Secretariat for Productivity, Employment and Competitiveness of the Ministry of Economy and KPMG LTDA will produce the Economic Resumption Guide for Tourism. The aim is to identify and prioritize projects for the sustainability, economic recovery, and growth of the sector in light of the crisis caused by Covid-19.
For the preparation of the material, KPMG – a global organization of professional services firms – will conduct a survey of the private sector’s demands and identify short-term proposals that can mitigate the economic effects of the crisis on the tourism sector, as well as point out possible medium- and long-term issues that may impact the resumption of economic growth.
After analyzing the results of the research, the intention is to develop prioritized projects based on the sector’s demands and the opinions of experts, considering not only problems caused by the disease but also pre-existing structural issues, so that the Government can organize itself around the resumption of the country’s tourism sector.
