Zabivaka (in Russian: Забива́ка) means “the one who scores,” a very fitting name for this wolf who radiates fun, charm, and confidence and is the official mascot of the FIFA World Cup 2018, which will be held in Russia.
The official mascot will play an important role in the FIFA World Cup 2018, where its role will be to promote the event and
entertain the crowds in the stadiums. It will also be the ambassador of Russia and a global “celebrity.”
What represents an anthropomorphic brown wolf wearing a T-shirt with the words RUSSIA 2018 and sporting orange sports glasses. The designer was created by student Ekaterina Bocharova, and the mascot was selected through an online voting process, where it was named after voting and process. More than a million Russians cast their votes on the FIFA website over a month, and the grand reveal was made during a live show on Channel 1 in Russia.
