An Art Exhibition by Heloisa Pomfret

Heloisa Pomfret, Brazilian-American visual artist, will present her works at the N’Namdi Contemporary Art Center in Detroit, MI. The opening reception will be on Friday, April 13, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and the duration of the exhibition will run until June 9.

The exhibition titled “Threshold” presents paintings and installations, including “Maps,” an installation of over 250 collages made with layers of air from truck tires. Oil paintings from the “Threshold” series will also be showcased, where the canvases are cut, stitched, and scratched with blades after being painted.

Heloisa was born in São Paulo, Brazil, and earned her Master’s degree in Fine Arts in painting and drawing from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.

The artist has exhibited her interdisciplinary works in various museums and international exhibitions, including shows in São Paulo, Brazil.

The exhibition will be open to the public at the N’Namdi Contemporary Art Center from April 14, 2018, to June 9, 2018.

A conversation with the artist will take place at the Contemporary Art Center on Saturday, April 28, at 2:00 PM.
