Another oil and gas exploration platform has begun operations in the Búzios Field (RJ). The P-75 has the capacity to process 150 thousand barrels of oil and compress up to 6 million m³ of natural gas per day. The unit extracts products from the pre-salt layer at a depth of 2,000 meters and is installed 210 kilometers off the coast of the state of Rio de Janeiro.
The P-75 is the fourth platform in Brazil to begin production this year. The unit has the capacity to produce, store, and transfer oil and gas. The production will be transported by ships, while the gas production will be transported through the pre-salt gas pipeline routes.
The Búzios Field was discovered in 2010 and plans to install six Production Stationary Units (UEP). The P-75 platform was the second to begin operations. These units will be interconnected by flexible lines, and the produced oil will be transported by ships.
