Since May, the Operation Gota of the Ministry of Health has been delivering vaccines to indigenous, rural, and riverside populations in 785 hard-to-reach locations across 25 cities in Amazonas, Acre, Pará, and Amapá. The populations will be vaccinated against measles, yellow fever, and meningitis, as well as other preventable diseases, with the help of aircraft from the Brazilian Air Force (FAB).
This year, the ministry expects to carry out 10 missions to deliver 12,500 doses of vaccines included in the National Vaccination Calendar and the Basic Indigenous Vaccination Calendar. The action will continue until September 26, 2018.
