Globoplay arrives in the USA

Series, miniseries, soap operas, original productions, hits from Brazilian cinema, children’s programs, music, local content, and the most important happenings around the world. All of this at the touch of a play. Since January 19, the audience can follow Globoplay’s programming in the United States, whenever and wherever they are, with more flexibility to consume Globo’s vast programming, with over 500 titles available on demand and content from Globo’s international channel. Globoplay begins its international expansion at a time of growth in the sector worldwide. The largest Brazilian streaming platform, the OTT started operations in Brazil in 2015 and has about 22 million users per month, offering free content and exclusive offerings for subscribers.

“The arrival of Globoplay in the American market is an important step in our expansion and digital vision, fostering direct relationships with consumers. It is a step that will further enrich the experience of the audience that has been following Globo for twenty years in the country,” says Raphael Corrêa Netto, director of International Business at Globo. “On-demand access and streaming from the platform allows us to expand our content offerings and provide more freedom of choice to our audience. We want to be closer to our audience and follow them wherever they are,” he adds.

The content of Globoplay can be accessed in the United States on multiple devices.

Featured are original productions from the platform, such as the series ‘Ilha de Ferro’, a plot that mixes action, drama, adventure, and romance, revolving around a group of oil workers from PL-137, a production platform of a fictional oil exploration company, which resembles a pressure cooker. Launched a month ago, the miniseries ‘Hebe’ celebrates the life and work of one of the most important figures in Brazilian television and is also available. The debate on activism and the future of biodiversity in the Amazon sets the tone for ‘Aruanas’. The selection of original titles also includes ‘Shippados’, ‘Eu, a vó e a boi’, and ‘Assédio’, among others.

The audience will also be able to follow the currently airing soap operas ‘Amor de Mãe’, ‘Bom Sucesso’, and ‘Éramos Seis’ with catch-up options and digital-first productions that premiere on the platform even before TV, as well as revisit classics from the collection like ‘Avenida Brasil’, the most licensed work of Globo abroad. ‘Domingão do Faustão’, ‘Mais Você’, and ‘Fantástico’ are also available, along with the main news from Brazil and the world, through Globo’s news programs. In addition to ‘Jornal Nacional’ and the network’s news broadcasts, the audience now has access to newspapers from all regions of Brazil, as well as programs from GloboNews and ‘Globo Notícia Américas’, the news program for the Brazilian community in the Americas. Titles from Gloob, Globo’s children’s unit, arrive to enrich the experience of young Brazilians with hits like ‘Detetives do Prédio Azul’, ‘Click’, ‘Valentins’, and ‘Tem Criança na Cozinha’. Musical programs and a selection of national films complete the offering.
