Olympus International Academy (OIA), a charter school located in Boca Raton, is the first school in Palm Beach County to offer Portuguese in its curriculum. The school provides education from kindergarten to seventh grade and plans to expand to high school in the coming years.
The “Let’s Speak Portuguese” Foundation has supported the creation process of Olympus from the beginning, which is why Portuguese was included in the curriculum.
“It took us 3 years to be authorized to open Olympus, but it was worth it! In one month, the school reached the maximum number of students allowed in the first year. We are in Boca Raton, right in the heart of the Brazilian community!” celebrates Cristiane Martins, president of VFP.
Nancy Swenson, director of Olympus, expressed her happiness in working with the Brazilian community: “I would like to thank the Brazilian community for their trust; we will do great work together!”
