Berlin, the capital of Germany, was the stage for the largest international tourism fair, ITB, which took place in March 2019. Embratur represented Brazil at this important event, in partnership with 33 co-exhibitors representing 12 destinations in Brazil, 21 companies, and travel operators.
At the Brazilian booth, visitors found business opportunities and learned about the country’s attractions aimed at the European market. In this edition, the segments of Ecotourism and Adventure Tourism, in addition to the traditional Sun and Beach, gained prominence.
Meeting schedules with airlines flying from the old continent to Brazil were arranged with representatives of the institute, who see the expansion of international routes and the growth in the number of flights as a fundamental agenda for the development of international tourism in Brazil.
“We are very proud of this participation and this beautiful booth. Germany has a large and growing market in tourism,” declared the Brazilian Ambassador in Germany, Roberto Jaguaribe.
The Deputy Secretary of Tourism of Pará, André Dias, emphasized “the importance of treating the tourism segment as a source of income and a generator of jobs and businesses.”
The 53rd ITB Berlin featured ten thousand exhibitors from over 180 countries. This year, the organization announced that actions are directed towards promoting experiences and digital innovations.
Embratur continued its mission in Europe, participating in BTL (Lisbon Tourism Exchange) in Portugal, one of the main fairs in the continent’s market.
