Bruno Goiano, the official DJ of BR Day NY – The Brasilians

Bruno Goiano, the official DJ of BR Day NY

Everyone knows that BR Day brings a little bit of Brazil to New York. So, at the biggest party held outside the country, you will find Brazilian cuisine, typical products from different regions of Brazil, elements of our culture, such as capoeira and samba, and of course, the highly praised Brazilian music.

This year, the party will be led by Claudia Leitte, the pagode group Sorriso Maroto, and the sertanejo duo Marcos & Belutti. However, amidst these attractions, there is the participation of an essential figure: DJ Bruno Goiano. After all, at a super street festival, with over a million people spread across Sixth Avenue, there must be good music to energize the crowd during the breaks between shows.

Bruno, well-known in the Brazilian communities of the Tri-State area to Florida, will play at BR Day NY for the first time, and he does not hide his excitement: “I can’t deny it. The moment I step on that stage, I will feel butterflies in my stomach,” he says. “This is a party with a super production. I think every DJ would like to participate in an event like this,” he adds.

Bruno has been living in the United States for 15 years and has been developing his career as a DJ for about 11 years. During this time, he has played at various types of events and opened shows for many Brazilian artists who came to perform here, such as Zeca Pagodinho, the groups Skank and Legião Urbana, as well as Claudia Leitte and the duo Marcos & Belutti.

Recognized for his innovative beats and transitions, the DJ says that the secret to a successful event is knowing the taste of the audience he will be playing for. “I can’t play what I like; I have to play what the audience likes,” he states.

Thus, for BR Day NY, Bruno says he will need to be quite eclectic: “At BR Day NY, you find a little bit of every corner of Brazil. So, I think if I play a little bit of everything, I will please everyone. But classics of samba and MPB cannot be missing,” he anticipates, already working on the event’s playlist. “I am very excited for BR Day NY. I am already planning surprises to present on September 3rd, and I guarantee that everyone will like it,” he promises.
