Athlete Grant for Sportspeople – The Brasilians

Athlete Grant for Sportspeople

High-performance athletes who do not have sponsorship and the means to dedicate themselves exclusively to sports are the target of the Athlete Grant Program. Through it, athletes receive a monthly contribution, which varies according to the results obtained in competitions.

In return, the beneficiary must meet prerequisites, such as being enrolled in educational institutions, participating in competitions, having ties with sports entities, and proving participation in training.

The amounts granted are R$ 370 for the student level, R$ 925 for the national level, R$ 1,850 for the international level, and R$ 3,100 for the Olympic and Paralympic categories. Beneficiaries of the Athlete Grant receive assistance for one year. The money is deposited into a specific account of the athlete at Caixa Econômica Federal.

Since 2012, with Law 12.395/11, it is allowed for candidates to have other sponsorships, which enables established athletes to receive the grant and thus have an additional source of funding for their activities.
