Population Can Help Shape the Climate Change Debate

The Ministry of the Environment (MMA) is developing a web portal for education and public awareness about climate change and invites society to participate.

The EducaClima portal, which will be launched by the end of this year, will provide information from both government entities and civil society organizations engaged with the topic.

The main sections of the site will present content on educational actions and public awareness; legislation; publications and websites; courses and events; infographics; and existing institutions. The portal is expected to go live before the United Nations Climate Change Conference this year, scheduled to take place in November in Bonn, Germany.

The creation of the portal is part of efforts to comply with the National Policy on Climate Change, specifically its guidelines regarding the dissemination of information, education, training, and public awareness about climate change. These guidelines are also contained in the texts of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Paris Agreement, both ratified by Brazil.
