Disney confirmed at the end of last year that a major update is on the way for Epcot, but did not announce details about what these plans would include.
Initial speculations indicate that a new pavilion about Brazil may be on the way. The interest in bringing Brazilian culture to the park is not new. Dusty Sage, the Executive Director of both the Walt Disney Birthplace and the Dick Van Dyke
Foundation, hinted that a South American country would be added to the World Showcase. Brazil came back into the spotlight in 2014 when a well-known Disney insider leaked alleged concept art of the new pavilion on the WDWMagic forums. In that image, we see what appears to be a carnival celebration with a model of the Christ the Redeemer statue in the background.
Half of the year has already passed. Let’s wait and see.
