Brazil’s leading cosmetics company, Natura Cosméticos S.A., whose
competitive advantage lies in developing products based on the biodiversity of Brazil’s flora, has opened its first store in the USA. The store is located in New York, in the heart of the Nolita neighborhood.
In addition to all the cosmetic products, the store offers charming handmade raffia bags woven in Bahia and a great selection of books about Brazil.
To immerse the public in its culture, Natura’s managers are planning a series of interesting events at the store. The first was Natutama – The Amazon Beyond the Forest. An exhibition of photographs from Eliseu Cavalcante’s trip to the Amazon, where all the ingredients for Natura’s products come from, resulting from partnerships with local communities.
Natura is the largest cosmetics manufacturer in Brazil and a leader in the country’s direct sales sector. Headquartered in Cajamar, São Paulo, the company employs about 7,000 people in seven countries: Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Peru, Colombia, and France.
Sustainable development has been the guiding principle of the company since its founding in 1969.
The passion for customer relationships has led the company to adopt direct sales as its main business strategy. Currently, more than 1,421,000 consultants – including 1,175,000 in Brazil and about 246,000 abroad – promote the company’s values and products to consumers.
