There’s no better way to relax than to watch a concert at sunset with Brazilian guitarist, singer-songwriter, and former member of Boca Livre, Zé Renato. Throughout his three-decade career, Renato has built a reputation as a guardian of samba tradition. Loved by fellow musicians, experts, and newcomers (even children!), his songs, such as “Anima” and “Song for a Rainforest,” occupy that sweet spot between whispered and electric, classic and intelligently modernized.
The celebrated duo of drummer and vocalist Vinícius Cantuária and guitarist Ricardo Silveira reinforces the focus of this program on adventurous interpretations of Brazilian styles.
