The summit, which brings together heads of state from 19 countries along with representatives from the European Union and the African Union, is expected to focus on a range of global challenges, from post-pandemic economic recovery to climate change, trade, and international security.
Although Joe Biden will participate in the event, the focus is expected to be on discussions about what the “America First” agenda of elected President Donald Trump will mean for the global economy.
Trump has a fundamentally different worldview than Biden, preferring bilateral meetings where he can practice transactional diplomacy instead of multilateral partnerships like NATO.

The G20 is the forum for economic cooperation among the 19 largest economies in the world, along with the European Union and, starting in 2023, the African Union.
