Inside the Wild Heart – The Brasilians

Inside the Wild Heart

Group .BR, the only Brazilian theater company in New York, presents “Inside the wild heart” – an immersive theatrical experience based on the works of Clarice Lispector, Brazil’s most acclaimed female writer. The show transports the audience directly into Lispector’s heart, creating an experience that encourages spectators to engage with literature on a sensory level.

Conceived by Andressa Furletti and Debora Balardini and directed by Linda Wise, the show integrates visual arts, cinema, music & performance art, which incorporate the writer’s deepest feelings, serving as a gateway to the incredible work of Clarice, still largely unknown in the USA. The performers embody the writer’s major themes, such as identity, solitude, madness, violence, faith, time, motherhood, childhood, and freedom, accompanied by Mario Forte on the violin.

Held at Aich Studio, from October 18 to November 18, a preserved 19th-century building with eleven different journeys staged throughout the building. Once “Inside the wild heart,” visitors are free to choose whom to follow, where to go, how long to spend in each room, and to be mere spectators or active participants.
