The U.S. Department of State has issued a worldwide security alert advising American citizens abroad to exercise greater caution.
The alert is prompted by the conflict between Israel and Iran, which has led to travel disruptions and the temporary closure of airspace throughout the Middle East. In addition to being on the Department of State’s website, the alert can be read on the websites of U.S. embassies around the world.
“There is potential for demonstrations against U.S. citizens and interests abroad. The Department of State recommends that American citizens worldwide exercise greater caution,” states the worldwide security alert.
The official U.S. government statement does not mention the U.S. airstrikes on three nuclear facilities in Iran: Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan, last Saturday (21).
