If you plan to go to Walt Disney World in 2023, you can still purchase tickets for next year at current prices until December 8. After that, ticket prices will go up. Again!
The park complex had already raised ticket prices in February, making this the second time in a year that entry to the “most magical place on Earth” has become more expensive.
A Disney spokesperson said this is driven by strong ongoing demand and significant investments in the company’s theme parks in recent years.
The current price for a one-day ticket to a park ranges from $109 to $159, depending on whether it is low or high season. But starting December 8, prices will also depend on which park you choose to visit. Three of the four theme parks will become more expensive: Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios will see an increase of over 12%.
Starting December 8, one-day tickets for a park will be:
• Disney’s Animal Kingdom: $109 to $159 (same range as today)
• Disney’s Hollywood Studios: $124 to $179
• EPCOT: $114 to $179
• Magic Kingdom Park: $124 to $189
So, depending on the travel dates, a family of four—let’s say, two parents and 10-year-old twins—will now pay up to $756 per day to visit Disney World, not including hotel, meals, transportation, or souvenirs.
The price increase is a sign of Disney’s optimistic outlook due to an excellent post-Covid recovery. In the summer of 2021, most Disney theme parks were operating at reduced capacity due to the pandemic.
Revenue for the third quarter of this year from Disney’s parks, experiences, and products increased by over $3 billion, and operating income rose by $1.8 billion compared to the same period in 2021.
Experts often view Disney’s theme parks as economic indicators. The theory is that when budgets tighten, families cancel trips to Disney theme parks. That does not seem to be happening now.
