Corinthians is the Supercopa Rei champion. The title was confirmed with a 2-0 victory over Flamengo at Mané Garrincha Stadium in Brasília on Sunday afternoon (1st). The São Paulo team claimed back-to-back tournament titles.
The first trophy had been won in 1991, also against Flamengo. In 2026, Corinthians qualified for the Supercopa as the 2025 Copa do Brasil champions. Flamengo qualified as the national champions from the previous season.
This season’s final began to take shape with a goal from defender Gabriel Paulista in the 25th minute.
After a corner kick, Matheuzinho crossed, Gustavo Henrique deflected it, and Gabriel Paulista finished first-time. Carrascal was then sent off following a VAR review.
The ball hit the post off Corinthians goalkeeper Hugo Souza from a Pulgar header. Memphis Depay had a goal disallowed. Striker Yuri Alberto then sealed the match in the 52nd minute of the second half.
The top scorer dribbled past goalkeeper Rossi in a beautiful move and finished into the empty net.
Corinthians’ triumph was witnessed by 71,244 fans at Mané Garrincha. The attendance set a new record for the arena.
