The women’s team concluded the team competition at the World Championship in Liverpool (England) on Tuesday (1), achieving an unprecedented fourth place, behind only the United States, Great Britain, and Canada, who secured their spots at the Paris 2024 Olympics in advance.
The Brazilian team’s campaign, made up of Rebeca Andrade, Flávia Saraiva, Lorrane Oliveira, Júlia Soares, Carolyne Pedro, and Christal Bezerrra, surpassed their participation in the 2007 World Championship in Stuttgart (Argentina). On that occasion, the team consisting of Jade Barbosa, Daiane dos Santos, Laís Souza, Ana Cláudia Silva, and Khiuani Dias finished in fifth place.
Coach Iryna Ilyashenko stated that she expects even higher jumps from the Brazilian team: “For the first time, we got close to the medal in a team competition. In the upcoming competitions, we will succeed.”
