The Most Popular Halloween Costumes This Year – The Brasilians

Halloween is just next Tuesday (31), but the weekend is filled with celebrations across the country. Have you chosen your costume yet?

Halloween has long been a showcase for costumes of ghosts, witches, and vampires. This year, however, the most popular outfits are far from that.

Barbie, Spider-Man, and Wednesday Addams (from ‘The Addams Family’) are among the most searched costumes in the U.S. this year, according to Google Trends’ Frightgeist, which analyzes the most searched costumes nationwide.

Barbie

Of course, after ‘Barbie’ made history with a box office of $1 billion, it’s almost certain that the doll will appear at your Halloween party. Mattel’s favorite doll is the most searched Halloween costume of the year, raising the question: how can you become Barbie without looking like everyone else at the event?

Oppenheimer

After the summer of ‘Barbenheimer’, we would be remiss not to mention ‘Oppenheimer’ (although this is an option that is not trending on Google’s Frightgeist).

Dressing up as the man who created the atomic bomb can be spooky and quite simple, with just a suit, tie, and top hat.

Spider-Man

Just like the ‘Barbie’ movie, the success of ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ makes the classic superhero the third most searched Halloween costume this year, which means there will definitely be a few at your party.

Wednesday Addams

Netflix released its series ‘Wednesday’, a spin-off of ‘The Addams Family’, last November, after Halloween had already passed. This year, Wednesday Addams is getting the recognition she deserves. She is the sixth most searched Halloween costume in 2023.

Take a look below at the ten most searched costumes in 2023:

1 – Barbie
2 – Princess
3 – Spider-Man
4 – Witch
5 – Fairy
6 – Wednesday Addams
7 – Dinosaur
8 – Cowboy
9 – Ninja
10 – Bunny
