Anitta Fails to Win and Beyoncé Makes History at the 2023 Grammy Awards – The Brasilians

It wasn’t this time that singer Anitta won the first Grammy for Brazil in one of the main categories of the most important music award in the United States. The pop star was competing for the Best New Artist award and was one of the favorites for the statue. In Las Vegas betting houses, Anitta’s name was the favorite.

In any case, Anitta made history at the Grammy by being the first Brazilian nominated in nearly 50 years in one of the main categories of the award.

However, the Gramophone ended up going to Samara Joy, a young jazz singer from the Bronx, New York, who was not among the international press’s predictions.

At 23 years old, Joy began her career singing in church. But she only really committed to jazz at 18, gaining prominence after posting a video of her cover of “Take Love Easy” by Ella Fitzgerald on TikTok, which went viral. With it, she secured a record deal.

In addition to the Best New Artist award, Samara also won the Best Jazz Album award at the Sunday ceremony.
Beyoncé Makes History

Beyoncé was already a queen, but now she is the queen of the Grammy.

The singer has just become the most awarded artist in Grammy history, with a record 32 statues won. The award that secured this title was for Best Dance/Electronic Album, which she won for her acclaimed album “Renaissance.”

She also won in smaller categories: Best Traditional R&B Performance and Best Dance Recording for “Plastic Off the Sofa” and “Break My Soul,” respectively.

“Renaissance” was also nominated for Album of the Year, an award that will still be announced.

Beyoncé has accumulated 88 Grammy nominations throughout her career.
