Americans Prefer Domestic DestinationsIt seems that most Americans do not look beyond their own borders when planning a beach trip. Among the main factors are clean and safe beaches, great weather, and minimal travel time compared to international destinations, with Florida, California, and Hawaii standing out for the country’s most popular beaches. However, younger Americans were twice as likely as those aged 35 and older to have traveled abroad in search of sun and sand, citing Mexico, Brazil, and Australia as prominent vacation destinations. Across all ages, the top 10 beach vacation destinations for American respondents are:
