Acting to prevent bullying in the public school system in Brazil is the goal of the initiative “Enough of Bullying: Don’t Stay Silent” developed by the Department of Education in partnership with Cartoon Network. The campaign has been running since 2011 and encourages the adoption of practices that address this behavior.
The team from the School Protection System, responsible for promoting actions that prevent conflicts in schools, trained teachers to encourage the development of projects that convey the message of combating bullying.
After the training sessions, educators received kits containing seven publications aimed at students in the early and final years of Elementary School, High School, as well as teachers, parents, and managers of educational institutions. The materials were designed to make the content engaging and fun. Experts on the subject created the content with illustrations, exercises, and games.
On the campaign’s website, it is possible to download all the materials and sign a manifesto, committing to end bullying. The pact aims to attract the participation of young people and adults from all over Latin America.
