Idaho, a paradise of adventures

Take a trip through the beautiful landscapes of Idaho; the itineraries can be quite different. Embarking on the less traveled road is a great way to get to know the state. Some of Idaho’s 31 scenic byways have historical significance. Feel the fresh air on your journey through the mountains and valleys of the vast Idaho.Don’t miss the boat tours and lake adventures in Sandpoint and Coeur d’Alene, and the fun in the rapids and with speedboats in Riggins. Then, head to McCall and Boise to rest, relax, and enjoy a fine meal. Have fun on a tour of historic downtown Boise to explore the beers, wine, and cuisine of the region while learning about the local culture.

When you’re ready to hit the road, go to Stanley, Sun Valley, and Ketchum to enjoy the best of mountain biking, skiing, and fishing. Also visit Island Park, Idaho Falls, and Lava Hot Springs, some camping paradises, hot springs, and snowmobile tours in winter. The gateway to the first national park in the U.S., Yellowstone, the eastern region of Idaho also features part of the Grand Tetons mountain range, great fishing spots, and stunning waterfalls. The communities of Victor and Driggs provide easy access to the famous Jackson Hole ski resort, as well as being excellent locations for geotourism. The Teton Geotourism Center in Driggs shows how visitors can experience the local culture in the majestic Teton Range.

Further west, visit the Craters of the Moon National Monument, where you can camp and hike on ancient lava rivers. To see the landscape change, just head to the Bruneau Sand Dunes State Park and Public Observatory, where you will explore the dunes and lakes of the region.

Idaho claims to have the largest number of whitewater rivers in the continental United States. In the area, it’s easy to book tours on the Main Payette River in Boise or the Middle Fork of the Salmon River. Hop on a jet boat tour on the Snake and Salmon rivers and through Hells Canyon to see great natural beauty, visit historic sites, and explore the shores.

Idaho also offers original skiing, practiced on soft snow under the blue sky. Enjoy everything from resorts to ski areas like Lookout Pass, Bogus Basin, and Tamarack.

North of Coeur d’Alene, Silverwood Theme Park is the largest theme park in the northwest U.S. The area also boasts the largest floating golf course at the Coeur d’Alene Resort Golf Course.

You can also visit the Route of the Hiawatha, where you can hike and bike along 24 kilometers of converted rail trail. Nearby, visit the old mining town of Wallace and discover the place that claims to be the “center of the universe”.
