Action Movies in 2018

2017 was a surprising year for cinema, but 2018 promises to surpass the mark with even more great films. Whether blockbuster or independent, the promises keep coming, and exciting trailers fuel the hype within us. Want to know which movies are the most anticipated for the coming year? Check out the list:
• The Shape of Water (A Forma da Água): The new project by Guillermo Del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth) presents a story set at the height of the Cold War in the 1960s. Eliza is a woman who works in a secret laboratory conducting scientific experiments and ends up falling in love with an aquatic creature held captive. The film premieres on January 11, 2018, and won the Best Film award at the Venice Film Festival.
• Maze Runner: The Death Cure (Maze Runner: A Cura Mortal): The continuation of the successful young adult series. Behind a potential cure for the Flare, Thomas will discover a larger plan devised by WCKD that could have disastrous consequences for humanity. He then decides to surrender to the final Experiment. The organization assures that there is nothing left to hide. But can one really trust WCKD? Perhaps the truth is even more terrible, a deadly solution with no return.
• Deadpool 2: An instant classic. The mockery of the genre, breaking the fourth wall, and bizarre sense of humor promise to break everything in its sequel. There is still little information about what the film will address, but last year producer Simon Kinberg spoke about the challenges of making the sequel. The film premieres in March 2018.
• Pacific Rim: Uprising (Círculo de Fogo: A Revolta): Jake Pentecost is the son of a legendary Jaeger pilot who sacrificed himself in the last conflict. After his death, he falls into the world of crime until humanity is once again attacked by an even greater danger. The film premieres in March 2018.
• Ready Player One (Jogador Número 1): Acclaimed book by Ernest Cline among nerds. The year is 2044, and the planet is no longer the same. Hunger, wars, and unemployment have pushed humanity into a state of apathy never seen before. Wade Watts is one of those who escapes the disheartening reality by spending hours connected to the OASIS – a global virtual utopia that allows users to be whatever they want; a place where one can live and fall in love in any of the worlds inspired by movies, video games, and pop culture of the 1980s. But the possibility of existing in another reality is not the only attraction of the OASIS; the late James Halliday, billionaire and creator of the game, hid a series of easter eggs somewhere in this immense playground that will reward with his enormous fortune – and power – whoever can uncover them.
• Avengers: Infinity War (Vingadores: Guerra Infinita): 10 years after Marvel Studios debuted in cinema with Iron Man, Avengers: Infinity War brings together the entire cinematic universe of the publisher for a showdown against the most iconic and powerful villain in the comics from the ‘House of Ideas’. Thanos, by gathering the Infinity Stones in his gauntlet, gains the power to surpass even gods. Will he be able to be stopped?
