Vitória is a capital of beautiful beaches and cultural attractions. You can find important works in the city, such as the Third Bridge, which connects Vila Velha to the northern part of the island. The beaches of Ilha das Caieiras and Curva da Jurema have waterfront restaurants that serve the traditional moqueca capixaba.
• Metropolitan Cathedral: The Metropolitan Cathedral began construction in 1920 and was completed in 1970. It was listed by the State Council of Culture in 1984. It stands out in the environment for its
grandeur and for its eclectic architecture with neo-Gothic characteristics. Its stained glass windows are a highlight of its walls.
• Galpão das Paneleiras de Goiabeiras: To keep the tradition of capixaba culture alive, the potters of Goiabeiras received a new shed in 2011. The artisanal production of clay pots is one of the main expressions of Vitória’s popular culture.
• Anchieta Palace: It is one of the oldest government seats in Brazil, originating as a Jesuit college in 1551. With the arrival of priests Brás Lourenço and José de Anchieta, the construction received a more solid foundation and religious character. Until 1760, the Palace housed the College of São Tiago, which taught literacy, Philosophy, and Theology.
At the end of the 18th century, the Jesuits were expelled from Portugal and its colonies.
• State Park of Fonte Grande: The last large contiguous area with characteristic vegetation of the Atlantic Forest slopes. Inaugurated in 2001, it has 21.8 thousand square meters where reptiles, invertebrates, small mammals, and birds can be observed.
• Theatro Carlos Gomes: In 1924, the Melpômene Theater was partially destroyed by a fire. The Carlos Gomes was built
in its place. In the new building, cast iron columns from the old Melpômene were used to support the balconies and galleries. The work was completed in 1927 and has an eclectic architectural style.
• Ilha do Boi Beach: With a length of 140 meters, Ilha do Boi Beach is located in a small residential area, with calm and clear waters. The beach is very popular among young people and is one of the most sought after in Vitória.
