Private initiative will sponsor Réveillon Rio 2021

The City Hall of Rio, through Riotur, announces that SRCOM has been chosen as the organizing company capable of holding Réveillon Rio 2021, which, for the first time, will be fully funded by the private sector. After three companies submitted their proposals, only SRCOM attended the Riotur headquarters during the public session, presenting its project, as stipulated by the rules of the Terms of Reference and Counterparties.

After analyzing and evaluating the project, the Proposal Evaluation and Selection Committee of Riotur understood that the proposal presented by SRCOM fits perfectly into the new model of New Year’s Eve that the City Hall of Rio planned for this year’s transition, which takes place amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

The welcome to the year 2021 will take place in a format different from the traditional one known by locals and tourists. At Réveillon Rio 2021, there will be six stages spread across iconic tourist spots in the city of Rio de Janeiro, but without an audience present, with all areas isolated. The public will be able to watch the shows on television, through an open channel, and on digital platforms, via Riotur’s official channel on YouTube.

In addition to the shows, this New Year’s Eve will feature lights and visual effects unprecedented in Brazil, along with an exciting surprise that will only be revealed on New Year’s Eve night, and everyone will be able to see it from their homes, on television and online. This new model will create an atmosphere of respect, with tributes to the victims of Covid-19 and also to the professionals on the front lines of the fight against the pandemic. Furthermore, the celebration includes, for the first time, an integration between various tourist landmarks in the state of Rio during the carioca New Year’s Eve.
