List of Call-Ups for the World Cup Released

The team that will represent Brazil in the World Cup in Qatar, starting on the next 20th, has been called up. The list of 26 players who will seek the sixth world championship was announced by coach Tite this Monday (7).

The list includes nine players from the last World Cup, four years ago, in Russia. Two of them (defender Thiago Silva and forward Neymar) also represented the country in the 2014 World Cup (Brazil), along with full-back Daniel Alves, who missed the last edition due to injury. Thiago and Daniel, in turn, also wore the yellow jersey in 2010, in South Africa. Fifteen athletes will have the opportunity to play in the tournament for the first time.

All players are part of a preliminary list, with 55 names, that Tite sent to the International Football Federation (FIFA) on October 21. The CBF and the coach chose not to officially disclose who was part of the list. Any potential change, only due to injury, can be made up to one day before Brazil’s debut, as long as the new athlete is among the 55 pre-called.

The call-ups will report to the national team next Monday (14) in Turin (Italy), where the group will concentrate for five days at Juventus’ training center before traveling to Doha (Qatar). The debut in the World Cup will be on the next 24th at 4 PM (Brasília time) and 2 PM (Eastern Time), at Lusail Stadium, against Serbia. On the 28th, the canarinho team will face Switzerland at Stadium 974. On December 2, Tite’s squad will return to Lusail to face Cameroon, concluding their participation in Group G in the first phase.
