The Government of Goiás, through Goiás Turismo, participated in the São Paulo Boat Show 2024, the largest nautical fair in Latin America.
According to the organizers, the fair offered a wide variety of vessels, accessories, equipment, segment trends, networking, and business opportunities.
The exclusive Goiás Turismo booth showcased the best attractions of Nautical Tourism and Sport Fishing that the state offers to visitors and investors, highlighting the lakes of Paranaíba, Serra da Mesa, and especially Corumbá IV, considered an attractive market due to its high level of development and proximity to Goiânia, Anápolis, and Brasília.
The beauties, navigability, and fishing championships in the Araguaia River, one of the most fish-rich rivers in the world, were also highlighted in Goiás’s space at the fair. In addition to promoting the tourist potential of these regions, the goal was to communicate all business opportunities in the real estate, marina, and vessel sectors in the state.
Networking
During the event, the 9th edition of the International Nautical Congress was also held, which is the main meeting point for mayors, tourism secretaries, and industry agents to discuss the challenges and opportunities that water tourism offers.
According to the president of Goiás Turismo, Fabrício Amaral, the arrival of new companies and investors is a key point for boosting the economy and fostering municipalities in various tourism-related activities, such as restaurants, bars, and accommodation. “From our positioning at fairs and segmented events like the São Paulo Boat Show, Goiás will be able to attract new investments and transform the reality, especially of cities that until now have not positioned themselves as tourist destinations,” he added.
Tourist Potential
Brazil, due to its climate and geographical characteristics, showcases one of the largest nautical potentials in the world. The southeastern region concentrates the largest market, but the Midwest is already the third largest region for vessel registration, with Goiás standing out for Nautical Tourism and Sport Fishing. Blessed with numerous lakes and rivers, nautical activities in the state are already part of the local culture, which has always been particularly linked to sport fishing.
The state’s water potential, combined with the biodiversity of the Cerrado, has been an important attraction for major editions of sport fishing festivals, such as Gigantes do Araguaia, Rainhas do Araguaia, Circuito Goiano de Pesca Esportiva, and Tucuna Queen, all supported by the Government of Goiás.
