Brazilian fashion gained international spotlight on October 26, when designer Maísa Gouveia took to the runway at Global Couture U.S., an event held at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington D.C.
With the theme “Aquarela de Estilos”, Maísa presented a vibrant and lively collection, inspired by diversity and the freedom to be oneself. The creations explore a rich palette of colors and textures, celebrating plurality and the beauty of differences — the designer’s signature mark, recognized for blending sophistication, authenticity, and
Brazilian flair in her pieces.
The looks transition between fitted and fluid cuts, in a visual harmony that values different bodies and personalities. The godê cut, a highlight of the collection, emerges reinterpreted with contemporary touches, while the detailed sleeve finishes add freshness and elegance to the outfits.
“Aquarela de Estilos is a celebration of individuality. Each color, shape, and texture was designed to translate emotions and stories — because fashion is, above all, a form of expression,” highlights Maísa Gouveia.
More than a runway show, the presentation was a sensory experience, where each look was treated as a work of art.
The collection reflects the designer’s creative gaze on fashion’s role as a bridge between cultures and identities, reinforcing the presence of Brazilian design on the international scene.
Global Couture U.S. is a showcase that brings together designers from different countries, with the goal of promoting cultural exchange and valuing fashion as a global expression.
